CFG Bank, based in Baltimore, Maryland, is a leading financial institution serving the national healthcare and multifamily markets. They are seeking a Junior Credit Analyst to evaluate and determine the credit risks of commercial clients through comprehensive analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and market assessments.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow reports for both businesses and individuals to assess creditworthiness for new borrowing requests
- Prepare credit approval packages and supporting reports to assist in decisionmaking. Participate in client discussions and calls as needed
- Conduct annual line renewals and term loan reviews, identifying deteriorating trends and advising loan officers and management on necessary followups to mitigate credit risk
- Evaluate borrower covenant compliance and reporting requirements on an ongoing basis
- Establish and maintain credit files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank policies
- Maintain a strong understanding of bank policies, legal and compliance requirements, and marketrelated risks associated with credit approvals
- Support credit administration functions, undertake special projects, and perform other assigned duties
- Ensure adherence to the Commercial Credit Policy by verifying compliance and documenting any exceptions
- Stay up to date on accounting pronouncements and financial analysis trends
- Adhere to all compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards

- Uphold internal control standards by addressing audit points and resolving issues raised by internal or external regulators
- Participate in Loan Analysis Department initiatives and complete additional responsibilities as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet time commitments
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
