Bankrate is redefining the future of financial decision-making. The FP&A Analyst supports Bankrate’s planning, forecasting, and reporting engine by applying modern data management and modeling techniques to improve forecast capabilities and automate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Build driver-based and sensitivity models that improve predictability of revenue, EBITDA, and cash flow with increasing statistical confidence
- Produce monthly P&L, forecast, and variance bridges for assigned areas; surface drivers, risks, and opportunities
- Help increase the % of P&L and KPIs delivered via automated reporting; document assumptions and data lineage
- Deliver new or improved methodologies to model various business costs and pending accruals for all aspects of the business (e.g., go-to-market investments, employee tooling, data procurement, etc.)
- Partner with Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams on ROI analyses (e.g., paid diligence, channel mix, CAC/LTV) and on standardized KPI definitions with the Business Intelligence team
- Contribute to the annual plan and long-range planning with clean inputs, reconciliations, and scenario work
- Support transition initiatives with clear cost tracking and reporting handoffs as financials consolidate under FP&A
Skills
- 1–2 years in FP&A, accounting, or finance operations
- Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or similar study with emphasis on Statistics or Data Analytics
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (lookups/index-match, pivots, basic scenario modeling)
- Familiarity with SQL is a plus
- Comfort with platforms typically leveraged for statistical models (e.g., R, Python, etc.)
- Comfort with BI/FP&A tools (e.g., Workday/Adaptive, Tableau/Power BI/Looker)
- Solid grasp of financial statements and P&L mechanics
- Attention to detail and ownership mindset
- Clear communicator who can explain the 'why' behind the numbers
