Position Overview

Are you a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you have a passion for retail operations and take pride in ensuring every detail is executed perfectly? If so, arenaflex invites you to apply for our Night Shift Lead position. This role is ideal for individuals who are looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic retail setting while developing their leadership skills and advancing their career.

As a Night Shift Lead at arenaflex, you will be responsible for overseeing all store operations during the 9PM to 5AM shift, ensuring seamless store opening and closing procedures, managing inventory processes, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This position offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and significant opportunities for professional growth within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

As a Night Shift Lead, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities that are essential to the smooth operation of our retail locations. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Store Opening and Closing Procedures: Oversee the complete opening and closing of the store without management presence, including initiating all necessary computer systems, managing required cash handling procedures, and ensuring the sales floor and stockroom are properly prepared for the business day. You will also be responsible for opening the secondary entrance for vendor deliveries.
  • Inventory Management: Process product returns, order voids, customer discounts, and execute cash drops to the safe. Manage change requests for sales registers and maintain accurate inventory counts across all areas, including primary departments, the warehouse, and overflow sections. Ensure proper stock rotation using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
  • Retail Operations: Assist with and mentor other team members to facilitate warehouse and merchandise ordering processes. This includes managing orders as they are placed, evaluated, and received. You will also be responsible for opening the secondary door for vendor deliveries and monitoring order exceptions on release days.
  • Visual Merchandising: Support the store manager or assistant manager in evaluating and creating compelling displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale stock presentations. Complete all resets and corrections as needed to maintain an attractive shopping environment.
  • Pricing and Compliance: Maintain accurate stock counts and ensure proper signage is displayed throughout the store to support accurate product pricing. Handle basic department pricing and make daily price adjustments as necessary. Ensure all additional pricing tasks related to local regulations and compliance programs are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Financial Operations: Assist with accounting activities, including cash reports, cash counts, bank deposits, and bill payments as required or directed by management.
  • Facility Maintenance: Support both external and internal maintenance by ensuring clean, tidy, and organized store conditions and appearance. This includes requesting store or system repairs as needed during management absence.
  • Food Safety and Handling: Assist with the division of food items (such as raw foods from pre-cooked) and product preparation according to established policies and procedures. For consumable items, assist with stock rotation and restocking.
  • Pharmacy Support: Provide assistance at the pharmacy window as required, supporting our pharmacy team in delivering medication and health-related services to customers.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding controlled products, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco items. Conduct bag checks of team members before they leave the store.
  • Team Leadership: Serve as a primary point of contact between management and non-supervisory team members during the night shift. Communicate assigned tasks to colleagues when store management is not present and provide guidance and coaching to ensure operational excellence.
  • Training and Development: Attend all required training sessions and complete all assigned PPLs (Performance Proficiency Learning). Obtain and maintain valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state regulations.
  • Communication and Reporting: Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management in a timely and professional manner. Maintain respectful relationships with all collaborators and colleagues.
  • Additional Duties: Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to store operations.
