About the Role

The Building Controls Specialist position at arenaflex is a critical role within our facilities management division. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of both our customers and associates while minimizing service costs through advanced diagnostic procedures and proactive problem-solving. • System Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Conduct comprehensive diagnostic procedures for complex building control issues. Identify root causes of system malfunctions and implement effective solutions while minimizing downtime and service costs.


• Proactive Problem Resolution: Develop and implement proactive solutions to address potential issues before they impact building operations. Apply advanced programming techniques to optimize system performance.


• Programming and Configuration: Perform specialized programming activities on building control systems, including modifying and adjusting control sequences to meet building requirements. Configure system parameters to ensure optimal performance.


• Alert and Work Order Management: Monitor and respond to system alerts, thaws, and work orders. Identify trends in system data and take preventive action. Respond promptly to manufacturer recalls and implement necessary updates.


• Sustainability Initiatives: Program daylight harvesting systems and ensure sustainability drives and energy reductions are achieved through strategic programming changes. Track and report on energy savings metrics.


• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with building performance and controls teams. Utilize and share resources, information, and tools to achieve collective goals. Collaborate with managers, associates, clients, and other stakeholders.


• Project Management: Determine client needs and business requirements while designing and executing work tasks. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Building Automation, HVAC, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.


• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of building automation systems, HVAC systems, and building controls. Familiarity with direct digital control (DDC) systems and building management systems (BMS).


• Programming Skills: Experience with programming and configuring building control systems. Knowledge of control sequences and system integration.


• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues and develop effective solutions.
