Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll tackle sophisticated problems requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation of multiple variables. You'll lead and contribute to cross-functional project teams, participating in initiatives that directly impact our technological advancement. Your expertise will be crucial in providing direction and guidance for process improvements, including helping to establish and advocate for policies that enhance our data operations.
You'll work with external vendors, assisting in delivering effective solutions and valuable insights. Using independent judgment within broadly defined guidelines and practices, you'll identify the best approaches for completing your work. This role offers significant visibility into our organization and the opportunity to influence how data drives business decisions across the enterprise.
Note: This position is offered as a remote work opportunity. While the bulk of your work can be performed remotely, occasional travel for training, meetings, and team gatherings may be required. Please be aware that due to regulatory requirements, employees in certain locations may have limited eligibility to perform their work off-site. Key Responsibilities
- Design and Build Data Infrastructure: Assemble large, complex datasets that meet both non-functional and functional business requirements, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Process Optimization: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including re-architecting infrastructure for enhanced scalability, optimizing data delivery mechanisms, and automating manual processes to increase efficiency.
- Cloud Data Solutions: Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using AWS and SQL technologies, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Analytics and Insights: Develop analytical tools to leverage the data pipeline, providing actionable insights into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition patterns.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders including data scientists, designers, product teams, and executive leadership to support their data infrastructure needs and address data-related technical challenges.
- Technical Innovation: Generate or adapt devices and technology solutions to serve evolving business needs and customer requirements.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing expertise and fostering professional development across the data engineering function.

Required Education

Required Experience
We are seeking candidates with advanced-level experience and specialized expertise in the following areas:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure and DataLake architectures
- ETL Development: Proven ETL experience ensuring source-to-target data integrity throughout the pipeline
- Data Formats: Proficiency working with various file types including Delimited Text, Fixed Width, XML, JSON, and Parquet
- Message Queue Technologies: Experience with ServiceBus, setting up ingress and egress within subscriptions, or relevant AWS Cloud offerings
- Development Tools: Experience with Unit Testing, Code Quality tools, CI/CD Technologies, Security, and Container Technologies
- Agile Methodology: Agile development experience with familiarity in Agile ceremonies and practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java
- Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and MLOps practices

Salary Range: Competitive market salary ranging from $137,250 to $152,500 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available at the company's discretion.
