As an IT Service Engineer, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the technology that powers our warehouse operations, ensuring productivity and efficiency across our distribution network.
What You'll Do
As an IT Service Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for providing technology services and support to all arenaflex employees globally. Your primary focus will be on our warehouse operations, where you'll work directly with the Warehouse Operations team to understand their workflows and provide technical solutions that enhance productivity. This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of desktop computing technologies and complex warehouse management systems.
- Build strong partnerships with the Warehouse Operations team by spending time on the warehouse floor to understand their daily workflows, challenges, and technology needs. This hands-on experience will enable you to provide more effective technical support.
- Investigate and resolve a wide variety of technical issues including Windows server administration, network connectivity problems, and warehouse equipment malfunctions. You'll be the first line of defense in keeping our warehouse technology running smoothly.
- Manage the ticketing queue using ServiceNow to ensure both local and remote end users receive timely updates and resolutions. You'll prioritize tickets based on business impact and urgency.
- Collaborate across functional teams including engineering and business units to resolve high-impact incidents. You'll provide quality and accurate information while working toward swift resolutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing our technical support processes and customer service delivery.
- Identify recurring technical issues and implement root cause fixes to improve business productivity using standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Maintain policies, procedures, and processes related to IT service delivery in the warehouse environment. Documentation is key to consistent, quality support.
- Demonstrate accountability and ownership by using strong problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues from beginning to end. You'll see problems through to resolution.
- Conduct thorough groundwork by asking clarifying questions, gathering relevant data, and resolving issues using a data-driven approach.
- Lead or manage technical projects that impact the local site, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
- Be a collaborative team player who helps other team members achieve overall group goals and contributes to a positive team environment.
- Maintain flexibility to provide support to 24/7 fulfillment centers and participate in rotational or on-call shifts as needed.
What You'll Need
We're looking for candidates who bring a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused attitude. While we prefer candidates with a bachelor's or associate's degree in a computer or IT-related field, we also value equivalent work experience and certifications.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's or associate's degree in Computer/IT or related field preferred, or comparable work experience
- 2+ years of IT support experience, ideally working in a warehouse or distribution center environment
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting Windows Server and Active Directory issues, including Group Policy and User Profiles
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, VoIP, VPN, and Cisco/Aruba networking device issues
- 2+ years of experience in software imaging deployment using SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)
- Experience troubleshooting warehouse device equipment such as RF barcode scanners, label printers, desktops/laptops, and various peripherals/devices
- Experience with technical documentation and implementing portable troubleshooting to management
- Passion for learning production workflows, processes, and adopting systems best practices
- Strong customer service and organizational skills while maintaining attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and be dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes
- Strong work ethic and desire to be a lifelong learner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry standard certifications such as A+, Network+, or other IT certifications
- Programming skills, specifically with PowerShell, VBScript, or PHP
- Experience with email, FTP, and HTTP troubleshooting
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices
- Experience with service desk tools and remote support technologies
