What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Ground Operations Agent at arenaflex, no two days are alike. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties that ensure the smooth operation of our flights and the satisfaction of our passengers. Here's what you can expect:


  • Passenger Services: Process tickets accurately, verify identification, check bags for size and weight compliance, and assign seats. You will be the first point of contact for many passengers, setting the tone for their entire travel experience.

  • Information & Guidance: Provide clear and accurate information regarding check-in procedures, flight times, boarding policies, carry-on regulations, and terminal layouts. Ensure passengers feel informed and confident throughout their journey.

  • Boarding Assistance: Marshal passengers onto aircraft efficiently, manage boarding sequences, and assist passengers with special needs, including those requiring wheelchair assistance or help with luggage.

  • Cargo & Baggage Handling: Load and unload checked baggage, cargo, and mail. Ensure proper weight distribution and secure loading practices in compliance with FAA regulations.

  • Aircraft Positioning: Assist with pushback procedures and positioning of aircraft on the tarmac. Work closely with flight crews and air traffic control to ensure safe and efficient aircraft movement.

  • Handling Denied Boarding Situations: Manage oversold flights by requesting volunteers, rebooking affected passengers, and providing appropriate compensation including meal vouchers, hotel accommodations, and transportation as needed.

  • Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of motorized ground support equipment including belt loaders, baggage tugs, pushback tractors, deicing equipment, and other specialized vehicles. Safety and precision are paramount in these tasks.

  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to all FAA regulations, arenaflex policies, and airport security protocols. Maintain awareness of security-sensitive areas and report any concerns immediately.

  • Aircraft Appearance: Assist with interior cleaning and restocking of supplies to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for passengers.

  • Special Assistance: Provide dedicated support to passengers with unique requirements, including unaccompanied minors, travelers with disabilities, and VIP customers.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including ramp services, customer service, and flight crews to ensure seamless operations.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisory staff, demonstrating flexibility and a team-first attitude.

What We're Looking For: Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Legal Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as per the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1986. Must provide appropriate documentation upon hire.
  • Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check as required for secure airport access.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid, unexpired driver's license. A clean driving record is preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently to understand and communicate instructions, policies, and safety procedures effectively.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to:
    • Lift and carry baggage and cargo up to 70 pounds repeatedly throughout shift
    • Stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods, often outdoors in varying weather conditions
    • Bend, reach, and twist to perform physical tasks
    • Work at heights and in confined spaces
    • Operate ground support equipment
  • Availability: Must be willing to work varied hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Shifts may vary and could include early mornings or late evenings.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application and help you excel in this role:


  • Customer Service Experience: One or more years of previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the airline, hospitality, or retail industry.

  • Aviation Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with airline operations, airport procedures, and FAA regulations is highly desirable.

  • Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with airline reservation systems is a plus.

  • Equipment Operation: Previous experience operating heavy equipment, forklifts, or other motorized vehicles is beneficial but not required – we provide comprehensive training!
