They are seeking a Power Systems Research Scientist to conduct research in power system analysis, focusing on both distribution and transmission systems, while collaborating with various partners and publishing research findings.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in power system analysis, focusing on both distribution and transmission
  • Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams, including utility partners, academic institutions, and government agencies
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed paper/journal

Skills

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or any other related degree with 1-3 years of experiences in power system
  • Demonstrated expertise in both distribution and transmission system analysis
  • Proficiency in Python is a must
  • Knowledge of transmission analysis such as power flow, stability, and contingency analysis is preferred
  • Knowledge of economic analysis preferred
  • Knowledge of distribution power flow analytics, nature of electrical loads is preferred
  • Knowledge of smart grid technologies, microgrids, DER management, and control systems is preferred
  • Proficiency in AI/ML algorithm development is preferred
  • Familiar with power system simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, OpenDSS, PSSE, or GridLAB-D is preferred
