The Role: Customer Engineer

We're currently seeking a talented and experienced Customer Engineer to join our Cloud Solutions team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical professional who thrives in a client-facing environment and is passionate about cloud technology. As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be the bridge between our technical teams and our clients, helping organizations understand and implement the full potential of our cloud platform.

You'll work closely with our Sales teams, Product Management, and Engineering groups to deliver exceptional technical guidance and support to our enterprise clients.

What You'll Do

As a Customer Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving arenaflex Cloud adoption across our client base. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Technical Discovery & Solution Design: Identify business and technical requirements through comprehensive discovery sessions. Lead full technical assessments and architect customized solutions that precisely meet client needs, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and workflows.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead complex technical projects from inception to completion. Provide expert guidance on technology implementation, troubleshoot critical technical issues, and support bid responses for strategic opportunities. Coordinate with cross-functional technical resources to deliver outstanding results.
  • Solution Presentation: Deliver compelling product messaging through various formats including whiteboard sessions, interactive demonstrations, professional presentations, and technical white papers. Create and manage proof-of-concept environments and respond to Requests for Information (RFI) with detailed technical content.
  • Strategic Consulting: Advise clients on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platform selection, and application infrastructure design. Provide best practice recommendations to optimize arenaflex Cloud platform effectiveness and maximize return on investment.
  • Client Engagement: Visit client sites, attend industry conferences, and participate in virtual meetings as needed. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and serve as the trusted technical advisor for your assigned accounts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Marketing, Engineering, and Sales teams to stay current on industry trends, provide feedback on product improvements, and contribute to the development of new solutions and capabilities.
  • Thought Leadership: Help prospective clients and partners understand the power of arenaflex Cloud. Explain technical features in accessible terms, assist clients with planning their cloud migration strategies, and identify potential obstacles to adoption.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer in a cloud computing environment, or in a client-facing technical role where you've demonstrated the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Hands-on experience with legacy and modern application development, cloud service delivery models, and networking concepts. You should understand the software development lifecycle and be comfortable discussing architectural decisions with development teams.
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Kubernetes and related orchestration platforms. Understanding of microservices architectures and DevOps practices is highly valued.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach to technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will help you stand out:


  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance or the ability to obtain one. This is especially valuable for roles serving government clients.
  • Experience developing scalable architectures using API management, microservices frameworks, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and container orchestration systems. Experience with relevant platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, or similar technologies.
  • Background working with Government and Public Sector clients, including defense and civilian agencies. Understanding of government procurement processes and compliance requirements is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of application security architectures including web application security, service mesh implementations, and mobile security strategies. Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
  • The ability to learn, understand, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space. A growth mindset and curiosity about new technologies are essential.
  • Experience with arenaflex Cloud or other major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and associated certification(s).
