Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Data Engineer to architect, build, and maintain our enterprise data infrastructure. In this critical role, you will serve as a key technical expert responsible for developing and managing arenaflex's data product factory and operations. You will drive the implementation of robust data engineering solutions that enable advanced analytics, machine learning, business intelligence, and product development initiatives across the entire organization.

You will be a contributing member of a high-performing data engineering team that integrates data pipelines from various source systems, establishes our data lake infrastructure, and ensures seamless accessibility for analysis, visualization, AI initiatives, and product innovation. This is a hybrid position that offers the flexibility to work both remotely and on-site, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities


  • Code Development & Implementation: Actively contribute to code development for operational tasks and services, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.

  • Data Pipeline Management: Manage and scale data pipelines from internal and external data sources to support new product launches and maintain data quality across all data products.

  • Automation & Monitoring: Build and own automation and monitoring frameworks that capture metrics and operational KPIs for data pipeline quality and performance.

  • Best Practices Implementation: Lead the implementation of best practices around systems integration, security, performance, and data management.

  • Business Enablement: Enable the business by creating value through increased adoption of data, data science, and business intelligence solutions.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal clients, including data science and product teams, to drive solutioning and proof-of-concept discussions.

  • Architecture & Innovation: Engage with enterprise architects and key internal and external partners to develop building capabilities and advance the data platform.

  • Model Productionalization: Develop and optimize processes to productionalize data science models efficiently.

  • SLA Management: Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for data products and processes running in production.

  • Experimentation Support: Support large-scale experimentation conducted by data scientists.

  • Scalable Solutions: Model new approaches and build solutions at scale to meet enterprise demands.

  • Research & Development: Conduct research in cutting-edge methods and technologies to stay ahead of industry trends.

  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for learnings and knowledge transfer.

  • Reusable Assets: Create and review reusable packages or libraries to accelerate team productivity.

Essential Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical fields.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Data Lake Framework, Data Warehousing, and Data Analysis tools.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with SQL development and implementation tuning, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, Scala, or similar.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in cloud data engineering with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).

  • Familiarity with cloud platform services; certification is a plus.

  • Experience with integration of multi-cloud services with on-premises technologies.

  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines.

  • Experience with data profiling and data quality tools such as Apache Griffin, Deequ, or Great Expectations.

  • Experience building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large datasets.

  • Experience with at least one Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) database technology such as Amazon Redshift, Synapse, or Snowflake.

  • Experience with running and scaling applications on cloud infrastructure and containerized services like Kubernetes.

  • Experience with version control systems and CI/CD tools.

  • Experience with cloud data factories, data analytics platforms, and AI tools.

  • Experience with Statistical/ML techniques is a plus.

  • Experience building solutions in the retail or supply chain space is a plus.

  • Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data glossaries is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of agile development, including DevOps and DataOps concepts.

  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI or similar platforms.

Compensation & Benefits
