About the Role

As a Machine Learning Data Scientist at arenaflex, you'll be at the forefront of our data analytics and artificial intelligence initiatives. You'll play a pivotal role in developing, deploying, and maintaining ML models that power our world-class attractions and entertainment experiences. This position reports directly to our Attractions Operational Technology team and offers the flexibility of remote work alongside collaboration with talented professionals across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and develop innovative ML solutions that address real-world problems in our attractions and guest services.


• Drive machine learning strategies forward by researching emerging techniques and identifying opportunities where advanced analytics can transform our operations and guest experiences.


• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation while executing and scaling ML solutions that achieve measurable business outcomes.


• Conduct research and development activities, including proof-of-concept projects and technology innovation initiatives that push the boundaries of what's possible in entertainment technology.


• Manage operational support and maintenance for ML-powered products and services, ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.


• Establish standard operating procedures and best practices for ML workflows, collaborating with specialized units to design, plan, and execute large-scale AI projects.


• Productionize ML algorithms across predictive analytics, clustering, image recognition, natural language processing, anomaly detection, and more – evaluating their performance on real-world datasets.


• Integrate with software development practices including automated testing, continuous integration, code style consistency, and thorough code reviews to ensure robust, maintainable solutions.


• Partner with various teams to achieve objectives related to system performance improvements and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Minimum 2+ years of experience with Python and predictive modeling, including hands-on experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, SparkMLib, PySpark, LightGBM, or MXNet.


• Cloud Platform Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).


• Software Development Skills: Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA processes, and Object-Oriented Programming Design Patterns.


• Data Management: Mastery in working with both structured and unstructured data – including images, video, text, audio – and experience with SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL solutions.


• Data Pipeline Experience: At least 2 years of experience with workflow management tools like Apache Airflow or similar platforms.


• Version Control & DevOps: Experience with version control systems (GitHub, GitLab), Model Operations, and CI/CD pipelines.


• Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead discovery processes with partners to identify business requirements and deliver strong outcomes with excellent communication skills and a results-oriented mindset.


• Systems Integration: Strong systems integration and architecture skills, with the ability to translate new technologies into practical business solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker


• Familiarity with orchestration systems such as Kubernetes


• Experience with cloud-native solutions across GCP or other major platforms


• Proficiency with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence


• Background in Agile development methodologies


• Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices


• Knowledge of data visualization and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Plotly, or Tableau


• Experience with audio analysis and natural language processing


• Strong research background and publication history in relevant fields

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.


• Preferred: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical discipline.
