Position Overview: Pharmacist - Centralized Services
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and clinically oriented Pharmacist to join our Centralized Services team in a remote capacity. This position offers the unique opportunity to work from home while making a significant impact on patient health outcomes and driving the execution of clinical pharmacy programs across our pharmacy network. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
As a Pharmacist within our Centralized Services division, you will be responsible for executing medical service methodologies, driving patient well-being outcomes, and ensuring compliance with clinical pharmacy services. You will play a pivotal role in implementing patient intervention pharmacy programs, supporting pharmacy financial performance, and fostering strong relationships with clinical communities in your assigned region. Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our Centralized Services team, you will be entrusted with a comprehensive set of responsibilities designed to enhance patient care and operational excellence:
- Clinical Patient Care Programs: Execute direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Projects. You will work directly with patients to optimize their medication regimens and improve health outcomes.
- Program Execution & Business Alignment: Drive the execution of various policies and operations to ensure business needs are being met while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care. You will implement strategies that align with both patient health goals and organizational objectives.
- Compliance & Quality Improvement: Lead compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by researching, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing necessary changes to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that our pharmacy operations comply with regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines. Maintain thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Financial Performance: Drive local pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with company financial goals. Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance while improving patient health outcomes.
- Patient Experience Enhancement: Support efforts to improve patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services, including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or wellness services such as vaccinations, illness state management, and Specialty programs.
- Team Support & Development: Provide expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership. Support staff training experiences and advancement opportunities while promoting collaboration and motivating pharmacy staff through fostering a shared vision.
- Medication Verification: Conduct data and clinical reviews and take necessary actions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications. Review drug histories and patient profiles to ensure proper and safe medication therapy. Provide individualized patient and provider consultations.
- Patient Relationship Building: Through use of superior interpersonal skills, win the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy issues. Build lasting relationships that encourage medication adherence and patient loyalty.
- Client Retention Program: Provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of the Client Retention Program, including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations. Use patient feedback to continuously improve service delivery.
- Clinical Advisory: Be responsible for all inquiries, discussions, and advice that relate directly to patient treatment. Provide clinical advice and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
- Documentation & Compliance: Perform other work consistent with the job duties as assigned by management. Observe guidelines and procedures for all job responsibilities to meet goals. Complies with company policies and procedures including all HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Licensure: Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority. You must maintain all required licensure and certifications throughout your employment.
- Leadership Experience: Experience inspiring colleagues to research and resolve issues. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams toward common goals.
- Confidentiality: Experience working with sensitive and confidential information, demonstrating a commitment to patient privacy and data security.
- Flexibility: Able to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends, as required by business needs and patient care requirements.
- Time Management: Experience using time management skills, such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details, and meeting deadlines of various projects with varying completion dates. Strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Independent Work Style: Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision. You must be self-directed and capable of completing objectives while knowing when to escalate issues to management.
- Customer Service Excellence: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction. A patient-centered approach is critical.
- Travel Capability: Able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state) as needed for training, meetings, and operational support.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Multi-State Licensure: Willingness to obtain additional state pharmacy licenses if required. Geographic flexibility is highly valued.
- Insurance Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing and reimbursement practices.
- Technology Proficiency: Knowledge of PC operating systems including Radio, Commitment, and Plus platforms.
- Microsoft Excel: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: embedding, editing, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list levels, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slideshow).
- Microsoft Word: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and paragraph width, formatting, inserting shots, images and dates, using find and replace, fix, spell check, track changes, review sheet and/or print capabilities).
