What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a critical member of our ground operations team, you'll be responsible for a variety of physically demanding but rewarding tasks that keep our operations running smoothly. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Safe Cargo Handling: Properly lift, load, dump, and transport luggage, mail, and freight to and from aircraft, ensuring all items are handled with care and attention to detail.
- Aircraft Movement Coordination: Manage efficient aircraft positioning by directing incoming and outgoing planes at gate positions, ensuring timely connections and departures.
- Cargo Security and Protection: Safeguard freight, items, and mail from damage, loss, and weather-related issues, maintaining the integrity of all shipments throughout the handling process.
- Ground Equipment Operation: Safely drive and operate ground support equipment including tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas, following all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Technology Utilization: Operate baggage scanners and computer systems to ensure items are routed accurately to their intended destinations, maintaining precision in our tracking systems.
- Weather-Adverse Operations: Perform duties in various environmental conditions including heat, rain, and snow, demonstrating resilience and commitment to operational excellence regardless of weather challenges.
- Safety Compliance: Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures, prioritizing the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and the cargo you handle.
Schedule Information: Shift assignments are based on operational requirements and may range from early morning to late evening hours. Each station has unique flight schedules, and you will work between 20 and 40 hours per week depending on your status and the operational needs of our Grand Rapids hub.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Requirements

- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a current, valid driver's license.

- PPE Compliance: Must be willing to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear (bump cap or hard hat), and high-visibility safety clothing.
- Physical Capability: Must be able to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, standing, and walking throughout shift duration.
- Weight Lifting Ability: Must be capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50-70 pounds repeatedly during shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in logistics, aviation, or related fields.
- Previous experience in customer service or ground handling operations.
- Familiarity with airport operations and safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in team environments.
