What You'll Do

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you will serve as a key contributor to our data engineering initiatives, working alongside talented professionals across various disciplines. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Lead Data Delivery Initiatives: Direct the successful delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights-driven projects, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and align with business objectives.
  • Data Infrastructure Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and layered databases that support comprehensive reporting and analytics requirements across the organization.
  • ETL/ELT Excellence: Implement industry-leading practices for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) to integrate large datasets from diverse internal production systems and third-party files.
  • Data Modeling: Create robust data staging and preprocessing schemas for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables, supporting both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
  • Healthcare Data Analysis: Perform comprehensive data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data repositories, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.
  • Automation Innovation: Develop internal tools and automation frameworks for streamlining all development-related activities, including data processing, quality assurance, and data validation processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with data scientists, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver performance insights that drive strategic decision-making across arenaflex Health.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and healthcare domain knowledge:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
  • SQL Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts with a strong understanding of database optimization techniques.
  • Data Engineering Platforms: Experience designing and implementing logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Business Intelligence Tools: Demonstrated thought leadership and expertise in platform-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal stakeholders, clients, and vendor partners.
  • Business Acumen: Minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to financial decision-making in a corporate environment.
  • Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, or cross-functional team leadership experience.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, including both in-state and out-of-state travel.
