Position Overview

As a Pharmacist - Centralized Services at arenaflex, you will be responsible for executing medical service methodologies and driving patient wellness results. You will implement patient intervention pharmacy programs, ensure compliance with clinical pharmacy services, and support pharmacy financial performance through strategic program execution. This role involves prescription processing from a remote setting, fostering strong relationships with clinical communities, and serving as a knowledgeable resource and expert for pharmacy specialists and field leaders.

Key Responsibilities


  • Direct Patient Care Programs: Implement direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Projects. Ensure these programs are executed effectively to improve patient health outcomes.
  • Policy Execution & Business Alignment: Drive the execution of various policies and operations to ensure business needs are being met. Align pharmacy operations with organizational goals and financial objectives.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Drive compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing necessary changes. Ensure regional Pharmacies comply with regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines.
  • Financial Performance: Drive local pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with company financial goals. Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance while improving patient health outcomes.
  • Patient Experience Enhancement: Support efforts on improving patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services such as patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or wellness services including vaccinations, illness state management, and Specialty programs.
  • Team Leadership & Support: Provide expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership. Support staff training experiences and advancement opportunities. Promote collaboration and inspire Pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Clinical Review & Accuracy: Conduct data and clinical reviews and take necessary actions to ensure accuracy and propriety of medications. Review drug histories and patient profiles to ensure appropriate and safe medication treatment. Provide individualized patient/provider consultation.
  • Patient Relationship Building: Through use of superior interpersonal skills, earn the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy concerns.
  • Client Retention Program: Provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of the Client Retention Program including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations.
  • Clinical Advisory: Be responsible for all inquiries, discussions, and advice which relate directly to patient treatment. Provide clinical advice and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations. Maintain current knowledge of Pharmacy industry developments and maintain required licensure. Observe guidelines and procedures for all job responsibilities to meet goals. Comply with company policies and procedures including all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other work consistent with the job duties in this description as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications


  • Licensure: Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority. Must be eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Oregon (Portland location).
  • Leadership Skills: Experience inspiring colleagues to research and resolve issues effectively.
  • Confidentiality: Experience working with sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Flexibility: Able to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays and/or weekends as required by business needs.
  • Time Management: Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of various tasks with varying completion dates.
  • Independent Work: Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
  • Customer Service: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Travel Capability: Able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications


  • Willingness to acquire additional state pharmacy licenses if required to support multi-state operations.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans and pharmacy benefit management (PBM) concepts.
  • Knowledge of PC operating systems including Radio, Commitment, and Plus (or similar pharmacy management systems).
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
  • Microsoft PowerPoint Proficiency: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: embedding, editing, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slide show).
  • Microsoft Word Proficiency: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and paragraph width, formatting, inserting shots, pictures and dates, using find and replace, fix, spell check, track changes, review sheet and/or print capabilities).
