Development and Executive Support Associate

The Pennsylvania Prison Society is dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and dignity of individuals in prison. The Development and Executive Support Associate plays a central role in implementing fundraising activities and supporting the organization's development efforts and leadership team.


Responsibilities

  • Implement fundraising activities that support individual giving, campaigns, events, foundation and corporate partnerships, and other philanthropic collaborations
  • Serve as a Board of Directors liaison and manage the Executive Director’s calendar
  • Coordinate appeals, campaigns, donor touchpoints, and events from start to finish to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Oversee acknowledgements and stewardship systems to ensure genuine gratitude and timely communications with donors
  • Manage timelines, collect attachments, and submit grants into foundation portals to support grant work
  • Manage gift entry and reporting, oversee weekly acknowledgements, and share donor information across the organization
  • Prepare board materials, keep the board calendar, take minutes, and plan board events
  • Manage the Executive Director's calendar, set up meetings, and correspond with her contacts

Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in fundraising / development, preferably in non-profit settings
  • A track record of supporting fundraising activities, including experience working on annual giving programs, fundraising and volunteer events, donor databases, and/or institutional fundraising (grants)
  • Curiosity for learning new systems and improving processes
  • Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a diverse audience, including donors, foundations, board members, and individuals reaching out to the Executive Director
  • Thoughtfulness and discretion with sensitive information, including donor information and Executive Director correspondence
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with excellence
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using spreadsheets and ensuring accuracy
