The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts is seeking a Jr. Front-end Applications Developer to join their Web Applications Tax and Reporting development team. In this role, you will perform computer programming work for the design and development of front-end services for web applications using React.JS, JavaScript, and REST APIs in a microservices environment.

Responsibilities

Develops routine coding tasks in React.JS, JavaScript, and related technologies based on business requirements
Develops test cases and integration testing of applicable changes based on requirements
Assists in analyzing software problems and solutions
Adheres to established architecture, design & coding standards
Assists in performing research and analysis to define specifications for current or proposed software applications
Prepares detailed diagrams/documentation to capture application workflow logic
Participates in Agile Scrum team status, planning, and review sessions
Participates in structured peer reviews/walkthroughs
Performs all other related duties as assigned, including responding to problems in an on-call situation 24 hours a day during a rotation

Skills

Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or a related field
Experience in the design and coding of web applications utilizing React.JS and JavaScript
Experience in Web development technologies and platforms (i.e. Apache, React.JS, Microservices)
Graduation from an accredited community college/university with an associate or higher degree in computer science or web development
Experience with modern JavaScript microframeworks (React.JS, Vue.JS)
Experience with 508 compliance, specifically for responsive design/mobile
An understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture and microservices
