Cloud Engineer (Multiple Levels) - 27003

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support its customer Omni Federal. The role involves working with senior architects to deploy cloud infrastructure that supports real-world missions in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the deployment of virtual machines, storage, and networking components within AWS or Azure GovCloud
• Work with senior engineers to write and maintain Terraform or Ansible scripts to automate environment setup
• Keep a watchful eye on system health dashboards, helping to identify and escalate performance bottlenecks before they affect the mission
• Create and maintain 'Runbooks'—clear instructions that help the team understand how our cloud systems are configured
• Support the team in moving applications into Docker containers and deploying them into Kubernetes environments

Skills

• 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience
• 2 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in a related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
• 5 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years experience with Masters in a related field or 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
• 9 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years experience with Masters in a related field or 4 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience
• Basic understanding operations, system administration, monitoring SLA
• Comfortable navigating a Linux terminal (if you know how to grep, cd, and chmod, you're on the right track)
• Exposure to at least one language (Python is a favorite here) and an understanding of Git (pull, commit, push)
• A relentless desire to learn new technologies and a 'no task is too small' mindset
• Must possess an active US level Secret clearance with the ability to qualify for a TS/SCI clearance
• Possess an active US level TS/SCI clearance
