Premera Blue Cross is dedicated to improving healthcare and enhancing the lives of its customers. They are seeking an Accountant I to manage month-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations, while also supporting senior accountants and seeking process improvements.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly close processes including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analyses
  • Develop, analyze and interpret accounting data
  • Support senior accountants with account reconciliations as well as in their work with internal and external auditors
  • Seek out opportunities for process improvement or to gain efficiency
  • Research, investigate, and resolve accounting, reconciliation and system discrepancies
  • Proactively identifies issues and independently works to resolve completion
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or (4) years' experience in accounting or related field
  • One (1) year of relevant experience
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience working with Workday or a similar application
  • Health insurance experience
