About the Role
The Advanced Platforms Data Experiences team at arenaflex is seeking a talented ML Data Scientist to join our Product and Customer Analytics group. This team is passionate about driving the next generation of intelligent solutions across Sales, Advertising, Finance, Product, and Planning. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a crucial member of a data-driven team dedicated to driving research, evaluation, development, implementation, and assessment of analytical models that are essential to maintaining our business excellence.
Your mission will involve transforming the massive volumes of data generated by customer searches, application content, and marketplace context into actionable business insights that enhance the end-user experience while driving discovery and effectiveness for application developers. You will work at the intersection of data science, product strategy, and business optimization, making a direct impact on how millions of users discover and engage with content.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze complex datasets derived from user behavior, application content, and marketplace dynamics to uncover actionable business insights that inform product strategy and improve user experiences.
- Machine Learning Model Development: Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to solve key business problems related to content discovery, user engagement, and advertising effectiveness.
- A/B Testing & Experimentation: Lead the design, execution, and analysis of A/B experiments and multivariate tests to evaluate product changes and feature implementations, providing data-driven recommendations for optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytical frameworks and data solutions.
- Dashboard & Reporting: Build and maintain insightful dashboards and reports that communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing overall product strategy.
- Data Pipeline Optimization: Work with data engineers to ensure robust data pipelines and warehouse infrastructure that support scalable analytics and machine learning initiatives.
- Advanced Quantitative Analysis: Apply statistical modeling techniques including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analysis to solve real-world business challenges.
- Big Data Analytics: Conduct research and analysis on large-scale datasets using modern data processing tools and cloud-based analytics platforms.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) are a significant plus.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data science, preferably in the technology, advertising, or product analytics industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience working with clickstream data and A/B experimentation frameworks.
- Cloud & Big Data Tools: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar).
- Statistical Expertise: Strong foundation in modern quantitative analysis including regression, classification, clustering, time-series analysis, and experimental design.
- Communication Skills: Ability to present analytical findings clearly and compellingly to product and business teams to drive strategic decision-making.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical thinking with the creativity to design and iterate on solutions when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in digital advertising, recommendation systems, or content platform analytics
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
- Experience with modern data pipeline tools and ETL processes
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing principles, and data governance best practices
- Previous work with product teams to influence product roadmap through data-driven insights
