Responsibilities
- Reviews coding in Electronic Medical Records system and post the charges
- Codes and bills for hospital charges
- Captures all billing from all clinics and hospitals
- Checks all accounts for any duplicate charges
- Uses proper Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers
- Attends seminars or webinars to stay current with changes in billing
Skills
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- 1-2 years of medical billing background with 2 years of college or technical training
- In lieu of college or technical training, will accept 3 or more years coding and billing experience in a primary care or specialty facility
