As a critical member of our CENTROID Data Science team, you'll develop intelligent solutions that make highly visible and significant impact decisions in Network transformation at aren'taflex. Your work will directly influence how hundreds of millions of customers receive their orders, how products flow through our vast network, and how we maintain our competitive edge in the marketplace.

Your responsibilities will span an exciting range of complex problems:

• Network Design Innovation: Solve challenging problems in Ambient and Perishable inbound network design, ensuring that everything from household goods to fresh groceries reaches our customers in optimal condition.


• Flow Optimization: Optimize center mile network flow to create seamless transitions between our distribution centers and retail locations, reducing costs while improving speed and reliability.


• Last Mile Excellence: Design innovative last mile delivery and returns solutions that delight customers and create operational efficiency.


• Strategic Inventory Placement: Develop sophisticated inventory placement strategies and targets that balance availability with capital efficiency.


• Transportation Intelligence: Create transportation and monetization strategies that provide aren'taflex with a competitive advantage in the medium to long term.


• Model Development: Apply diverse methodologies from operations research, classical machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, causal inference, and statistics to develop cutting-edge solutions.

Who We're Looking For: The aren'taflex Difference

We're seeking a exceptional candidate with a Ph.D. or M.S. in a quantitative field such as Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics, combined with up to ten years of relevant work experience. But beyond credentials, we're looking for someone who brings intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Essential Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred, M.S. accepted) in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline


• Demonstrated ability to leverage academic background in Operations Research, Statistics, or equivalent quantitative areas involving math programming strategies, stochastic programming, or related applied disciplines


• Hands-on experience with optimization toolkits and libraries including CPlex, Gurobi, XPressMP, or open-source solvers


• Strong software development skills in Python with familiarity to machine learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras


• Data querying proficiency using SQL


• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences


• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders across functions

What Would Really Impress Us:

• Demonstrated capability as a full-stack data scientist who can develop, optimize, and scale models for production environments


• Strong expertise in optimization modeling techniques including Linear Programming, Mixed Integer Programming, and Non-Linear Programming


• Advanced statistical modeling experience with methods such as SVM, Random Forest, Bayesian inference, Graph models, NLP, Computer Vision, and Neural Networks


• Hands-on experience solving complex inventory/operations planning problems


• Experience with stochastic discrete optimization using heuristics, integer programming models, and simulation-based approaches


• Cloud technology experience including GCP, Azure, as well as Spark, Hive, and TensorFlow


• A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant academic venues
