Within the Research, Data, and Experiences division, our Data Management and Operations team plays a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions across our vast portfolio of television networks, streaming services, and digital platforms. Position Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing predictive models and integrated insights across our television portfolio. Your modeling work will primarily support viewership forecasting in collaboration with the addressable pricing teams within Research, Insights, and Estimation to optimize advertising sales revenue and support the DTCI P&L for digital initiatives. You will be a skilled problem-solver comfortable managing end-to-end projects from ETL and predictive modeling to data visualization and BI reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Quality and Governance: Interpret raw data from multiple sources into meaningful and useful insights for data-driven decision making with automated pipelines handling ETL. As a knowledgeable authority on internal and external data sources, ensure data is as clean as possible and a reliable source of truth, raising anomalies and developing workarounds where necessary.
• Statistical Modeling: Design and develop new predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques to forecast and project customer engagement with arenaflex platforms across multiple KPIs. Dive into drivers of change when interpreting forecasts and drive modifications to the science in the forecast that will enhance accuracy.
• Business Intelligence: Build visualizations and interfaces to communicate results to business partners in an easily digestible, sustainable, and automated manner. Analyze data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and create a common understanding of digital media consumption.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Partner closely with business partners (primarily the addressable pricing teams within Research, Insights, and Estimation) to identify opportunities, and with other data teams to improve capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, and data visualization. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Process Improvement: Drive innovation by exploring new statistical methods and brainstorming ways to enhance the current forecast and reporting infrastructure and make processes better.
• Agile Operations: Apply Agile principles by participating in standups, sprint planning, writing business requirements documents, and retrospectives. Participate in an "Open Source" learning environment where sharing, documenting, teaching, and collaborating with others is the culture.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in data science, predictive analytics, or a related field.
• Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in SQL and Python (including libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn) for data analysis.
• Data Engineering: Experience with ETL, data pipeline management, and cloud infrastructure for managing large volumes of data (such as AWS, PySpark, Snowflake, Airflow, or Databricks).
• Visualization Skills: Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Modeling Expertise: Experience designing and implementing predictive models including generalized linear models, time series, decision trees, and other statistical learning techniques.
• Version Control: Experience working with Git for code management and collaboration.
• Accountability: A proven sense of responsibility and effective project ownership - you have a knack for investigating complex issues with smart fixes.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills - you're able to move between technical and non-technical terminology depending on the audience.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following experience would be advantageous:

• Experience using web frameworks (Django) and JavaScript libraries (ReactJS, JQuery) to build efficient frontend and backend web applications focused on user experience.
• Experience implementing Docker containers for deployment and scaling of applications.
• Advanced degrees in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related quantitative fields.
• Experience in the media, entertainment, or streaming industry.
• Familiarity with advertising technology (AdTech) and programmatic advertising concepts.
