Position Overview
We are currently hiring Call Center Representatives to work remotely, supporting our pharmacy operations and patient services. In this role, you will be responsible for handling high-volume customer inquiries, processing new patient enrollments, and resolving issues related to prescription medications. You will work directly under the supervision of experienced managers, following established protocols and guidelines to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.

Key Responsibilities
As a Remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in our patient support operations. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Patient Enrollment and Data Entry: Using arenaflex prescription data entry techniques and guidelines, process new patient enrollments by accurately entering information into our pharmacy systems. Ensure all data is entered correctly to maintain patient safety and records integrity.
- Prescription Processing: Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing. Investigate to obtain missing prescription information and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes) accurately.
- Exception Resolution: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions efficiently and accurately. This includes identifying issues, correcting errors, and ensuring that prescriptions are processed without delays.
- Customer Communication: Handle correspondence with patients through inbound calls, chats, and messages. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues, provide updates, or gather additional information.
- Third-Party Resolution: Resolve third-party rejections by reviewing claims, collecting information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements. Make phone calls to back plans and other parties to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve rejections.
- Pharmacy Support: Provide assistance to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those at other locations. Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Issue Escalation: Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate, ensuring that complex problems are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Compliance and Licensing: Must obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active license or certification throughout employment.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required
- Computer Skills: Basic level PC skills, including the ability to start up and shut down a computer, use a mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print reports, and access information online
- Web Navigation: Basic web browser skills, including opening a browser, typing URLs correctly, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing forms online
- Typing Proficiency: Intermediate-level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, typing by memory, formatting documents)
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
- Remote Work Setup: Must have a reliable home office setup with high-speed internet, a quiet workspace, and the ability to work independently
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time shifts (8 hours per day) as scheduled, including potential weekend or holiday rotations
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment
- At least 1.5 years as a pharmacy technician with a certificate/registration granted by the State Board of Pharmacy or nationally recognized certification agency
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction
- Moderate to advanced-level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, typing by memory, formatting documents)
- Bilingual: Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) is highly preferred, as we serve a diverse patient population
- Knowledge of pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
- Familiarity with insurance claims processing and prior authorization procedures
