The Role: Data Scientist – Cost and Operations Analysis

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our Cost and Operations Analysis team. In this critical role, you will focus on improving efficiency, automation, and provider experience across our healthcare operations. You'll work alongside brilliant minds across engineering, product, and business teams to deliver powerful solutions that drive measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and Execute Analytical Models: Build advanced algorithms and predictive models to investigate complex business issues, identify patterns, and recommend data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

  • Data Pipeline Development: Create robust data models and pipelines to integrate, collect, and normalize data from multiple sources, generating actionable insights and meeting reporting requirements.

  • Healthcare Claims Analysis: Process and analyze healthcare claims data to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in claims settlement and modification processes.

  • Statistical Analysis: Apply advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses to solve moderately complex business problems using both structured and unstructured data sets.

  • Data Visualization: Utilize cutting-edge data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support strategic business decision-making.

  • Data Integrity Management: Assess and ensure the data needs of assigned projects while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and quality.

  • Opportunity Identification: Research existing data sources and recommend additional data sources that can enhance analytical capabilities and business insights.

Required Qualifications


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related quantitative field.

  • Analytical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant analytical experience in a professional setting, preferably within healthcare, insurance, or technology sectors.

  • Programming Expertise: Strong experience programming using R or Python, with demonstrated ability to write efficient, maintainable code.

  • Database Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases.

  • Statistical Knowledge: Solid foundation in advanced statistical techniques, including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders.
