Position Overview: Data Center Technician (Night Shift)
As a Server Farm Expert (Data Center Technician), you will develop an understanding of standard processes and methodologies for planning, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, or potentially decommissioning equipment under the guidance of more experienced data center partners.

Key Responsibilities
Data Center Operations:
- Receive guidance and supervision to develop an understanding of standard processes and methods for planning, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, or decommissioning equipment
- Develop and secure a foundational understanding of the functions of, and relationships among, network and server hardware
- Demonstrate awareness that changes to their area affect the work of others; ask questions when they don't have needed information and may provide feedback on changes to processes to management
- Follow Data Center Services (DCS) specialty unit and service level policies, procedures, and deadlines with guidance from other professionals; raise resolution of compliance issues to expert leads
- Complete assigned tickets successfully and in alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) per task type while meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), with guidance from other professionals; appropriately raise tickets to more experienced professionals
Service Delivery:
- Plan, stage, set up, and perform basic startups and shutdowns for equipment (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to specifically written instructions provided via agendas, guides, standard protocols, emails, guidance from other specialists, and/or direction from management
- Raise resolution of testing or complex tasks to others as needed to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting with guidance from experienced technicians and by following standard procedures to identify the cause(s) of issues and replace defective parts with minimal client and business disruption
- Follow procedures to communicate, report, and raise incidents to appropriate data center operations management units and Expert Leads
- Decommission hardware for critical changes and revives (e.g., memory upgrades, operating system revamps) following standard procedure; seek clarification and guidance from more experienced specialists as needed
- Escalate complex decommissioning work and discrepancies in operations or tickets to senior or lead professionals when appropriate
- Process data-bearing devices for destruction or confirm any data contained has been destroyed
Managing Services:
- Contribute to troubleshooting through escalation by asking questions and seeking guidance on timely resolution of issues from more experienced professionals
- Develop an understanding of cross-functional processes to support organizations with internal and external partners
- Complete required training aligned to the role and responsibility; observe more experienced professionals to gain hands-on insight and relevant on-the-job training (OJT)
- May complete additional training to obtain or maintain necessary job certifications
Data Center Work Environment:
- Participate in daily security briefings, complete required safety training, adhere to safety procedures (e.g., equipment use, lifting, electrical hazards, ladder/mobile platform use)
- Complete required Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and use appropriate tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks
- Adhere to and promote a culture of safety; take action and alert others to safety concerns or incidents
- Participate in Get Out And Look (GOAL) safety observations
- Conform to security and data management procedures and approaches with guidance from other professionals, and complete required security training
- May accompany third-party vendors or IT support on-premises at data centers or network sites
- Appropriately take action and alert others to security concerns or incidents
Team Collaboration:
- Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by communicating information to others, contributing in regular team meetings, asking questions and staying informed about the status of others' work
- Cooperate with other specialists to complete or hand off tickets as needed
- Respond to feedback received on ways of working more effectively within their team and embrace best practices shared within and across professional teams

- Have pride and a sense of ownership for the service quality, satisfaction, and resulting client experience
- Demonstrate commitment and accountability for data center facilities
- Maintain an effective client focus to understand the impact of their work while completing tickets and assigned tasks
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include night, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
- Ability to meet arenaflex, client, and/or government security screening requirements
- Microsoft Cloud Personal Clearance: This position will be required to pass the arenaflex Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every three years thereafter
- Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports U.S. federal, state, and/or local U.S. government agency clients and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by relevant law
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and components
- One or more years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
- Relevant technical certifications in data center operations, networking, or systems administration
- Previous experience in a data center or similar technical environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with equipment installation and maintenance
Compensation and Benefits
We offer competitive compensation packages that recognize skills, experience, and contributions. The typical base salary range for this position across the U.S. is USD $20.82 - $33.32 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position working night shift hours from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. You will be part of a rotating schedule that may include weekends and holidays. Night shift team members play a vital role in ensuring 24/7 operational excellence across our global infrastructure.
