Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst who will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of our organizational data assets. In this role, you will serve as a steward of data quality, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement robust data management practices, identify data sources, and establish quality standards that align with business objectives.
As a Remote Data Quality Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in maintaining our data infrastructure, performing quality assessments, and supporting initiatives that enhance our data governance framework. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to meaningful projects that directly impact business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Source Identification: Support the understanding of requirement requests and service level agreements by identifying the most suitable data sources that are fit for purpose. Conduct preliminary data quality checks on extracted data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Data Quality Management: Develop and implement data quality protocols, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes. Monitor data quality metrics and create reports to track improvements and identify areas requiring attention.
- Data Stewardship: Act as a subject matter expert for data management and stewardship practices. Collaborate with business units to define data standards, policies, and procedures that ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Business Intelligence Support: Utilize BI tools such as Excel, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI to analyze data, generate insightful reports, and present findings to stakeholders. Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- SQL and Database Management: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases. Ensure data modeling and database design align with best practices.
- Financial Data Analysis: Apply knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes to support financial data management initiatives. Work with tax-related data and ensure accuracy in financial reporting structures.
- Data Governance Implementation: Contribute to the implementation of data governance frameworks and participate in data management roll-outs. Partner with IT and business teams to drive adoption of data quality standards.
- Tool Proficiency: Work with data profiling and curation tools such as Collibra to catalog data assets, define data dictionaries, and maintain metadata repositories.
- Programming and Automation: Leverage working knowledge of Python, R, or VBA to automate data quality processes, develop scripts for data validation, and improve operational efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years of experience in data management, data quality, or a related area; OR
- 7 years of professional experience in data management, data analysis, or a related field demonstrating progressive responsibility.
- Proven experience with data management concepts and principles, including data governance, data stewardship, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data concepts, including data design, data modeling, and data architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one business intelligence tool (Excel, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI).
- Experience working with financial data, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or tax data.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend business concepts and translate them into data requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with data profiling and curation platforms such as Collibra.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or VBA for data analysis and automation.
