Position Overview

We are seeking energetic and reliable Ramp Agents to join our California team. In this role, you'll work outdoors in various weather conditions, handling aircraft ground operations including loading and unloading luggage, cargo, mail, and company materials. You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate handling of all items, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent service to both internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Ramp Agent at arenaflex, your daily responsibilities will include:


  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide friendly, professional support to all internal and external customers, maintaining positive relationships while representing arenaflex with pride.

  • Luggage and Cargo Handling: Receive, record, load, unload, service, guide, and direct aircraft luggage, cargo, mail, and company materials with precision and care.

  • Aircraft Loading Operations: Handle all aspects of loading, stowing, and unloading items according to predetermined plans received from Operations Specialists, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement.

  • Documentation and Data Entry: Complete all required forms and paperwork associated with job duties, entering information into arenaflex's information systems accurately and timely.

  • Freight Management: Receive, transport, and deliver freight and luggage to and from aircraft, maintaining proper documentation throughout the process.

  • Inventory and Quality Control: Warehouse, gauge, stack, receive, and deliver air freight; check all freight against accompanying documentation to identify discrepancies and correct routine errors.

  • Cargo Security: Protect customers' luggage, air freight, air mail, and company materials from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.

  • Jetway Operations: Regularly use jetway stairs to deliver checked items at the gate to aircraft cargo holds.

  • Documentation Review: Review freight documents for accuracy and make corrections as needed.

  • Aircraft Cleaning: Perform manual interior cabin cleaning, including vacuuming upholstery, cleaning windows, galleys, and waste containers according to established procedures.

  • Sanitation Services: Clean and service lavatories, operate lavatory service trucks, and dispose of contents according to established protocols.

  • Provisioning Support: May perform duties of a Provisioning Specialist, including loading aircraft cabin interiors with equipment and supplies such as literature, waste, and reject containers and grocery items.

  • Equipment Operation: Operate and drive mechanized equipment including belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback pulls, baggage trucks, lavatory trucks, and de-icers.

  • Physical Movement: Physically move push carts and containers around the ramp area.

  • Facility Navigation: Work in and around passenger terminals, hangars, and airfreight facilities, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Safety Compliance: Complete all required training and adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and procedures outlined in the Ground Operations Representative Handbook.

  • Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other Ground Operations teams to ensure timely aircraft turns and maintain flight schedules.

  • Communication: Maintain awareness of moving vehicles and aircraft, use radio equipment effectively, and communicate information and instructions clearly.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisors.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Physical Capabilities: Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds), and working in various weather conditions.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team and maintain positive working relationships.

  • Stress Management: Ability to work effectively under pressure and in stressful situations.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to understand instructions, follow procedures, and communicate effectively via radio equipment.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to learn and understand ramp operations techniques, rules, and regulations.

  • Safety Awareness: Must be aware of hazardous situations and able to handle emergencies as they arise.

  • Time Management: Must work under tight time constraints to achieve rapid aircraft turns.

  • Training Commitment: Must be willing to complete the Ramp Agent training program with a 90% or greater average and successfully pass an evaluation period.

  • Flexibility: Must be able to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Background Check: Must pass background screening and drug testing as required.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:


  • Previous experience in ground operations, logistics, or warehouse work.

  • Forklift certification or experience operating heavy machinery.

  • Experience in customer service roles.

  • Knowledge of airport operations and safety regulations.

  • Ability to speak multiple languages (especially Spanish).
