Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering initiatives with a focus on Azure cloud platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data architectures that support our analytics and business intelligence needs. Additionally, you will mentor and guide a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineering Manager at arenaflex, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Data Architecture Design and Implementation: Plan and implement comprehensive data storage solutions, including all layers of data architecture (ingestion, storage, and serving layer) using Azure cloud technologies. Ensure the architecture is scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance.

  • Data Processing and ETL Development: Design and develop robust data processing pipelines using various ETL tools for data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and job scheduling. Leverage modern data processing frameworks to ensure efficient and accurate data flow.

  • Data Security and Governance: Plan and implement comprehensive data security measures, including role-based access control, data masking, and encryption of sensitive information. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company security policies.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor and optimize data storage and data processing systems using advanced monitoring tools. Implement file partitioning strategies and query tuning techniques to maximize performance and reduce costs.

  • Technology Stack Expertise: Demonstrate extensive hands-on experience working with Azure Synapse Pipelines (Azure Data Factory experience is also valuable), Spark Pools, Synapse SQL Pools, and SQL Managed Instances. Build expertise in cloud-native data solutions.

  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage relationships with business partners and drive timely project execution using agile methodologies. Translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Solution Development: Build solid and scalable technology solutions in a fast-paced work environment. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance our data platform capabilities.

  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor other team members on technical skills and best practices. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
