Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer – Data Center to design, implement, maintain, and optimize our enterprise network infrastructure. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of our network systems, which are essential to our daily operations and future growth.

As a Network Engineer at arenaflex, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and leadership throughout the organization to plan and maintain network equipment and software, document and manage the installation of new networks, ensure network integrity, troubleshoot any network issues, and maintain/upgrade existing systems as required. Key Responsibilities

As a Network Engineer at arenaflex, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Network Design & Implementation: Plan and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks. You'll be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performance network architectures that meet current and future business requirements.
• Hardware Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and support network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking equipment. Ensure all installations meet industry best practices and organizational standards.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Obtain network hardware and manage subcontractors associated with network installation. You'll coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery and quality installation of network components.
• Routing & Switching Optimization: Configure routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security. Implement best practices in network design to optimize performance while maintaining robust security protocols.
• Infrastructure Improvements: Recommend changes to improve network designs and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes. Conduct regular assessments of network performance and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff members. Mentor and coach others to perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, solution development, and implementation within specific technology areas.
• Technical Guidance: Provide technical direction or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems. Collaborate with software development teams and other technical stakeholders on network-related initiatives.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes. Ensure all network diagrams, policies, and procedures are current and accessible to authorized team members.
• Additional Duties: May perform other work duties as directed by the employee's supervisors. Flexibility and adaptability are key traits we value in our team members.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of hardware components, systems, software, and networking technologies. Familiarity with industry-standard networking equipment and protocols.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical abilities with the capacity to identify and resolve complex network issues efficiently and effectively.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with business clients and technology support teams. Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project Management: Ability to prioritize effectively and handle multiple concurrent assignments, whether administrative or project-related, while maintaining a high level of completion in all responsibilities.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to develop, present, and effectively communicate complex ideas and processes in both technical and user-friendly language to diverse audiences.
• Team Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, customer service-oriented environment with a high regard for hospitality and collaboration.
• Network Troubleshooting: Skilled in investigating, analyzing, and resolving network traffic and issues. Proficient in using network diagnostic tools and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent


• Experience with data center networking technologies


• Knowledge of cloud networking architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)


• Experience with network security best practices and firewalls


• Familiarity with virtualization technologies


• Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or high-availability environments


• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices
