Role Overview

The Information Researcher – Real-World Evidence will be responsible for generating Real-World Evidence (RWE) through advanced research and innovative methodologies in the clinical trials space. As an integral part of our Scientific Issues team, you will play a fundamental role in driving evidence-based decision-making that impacts both internal strategies and external collaborations with biopharmaceutical partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Mining and Preparation: Mine raw datasets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data resources or licensed platforms. Analyze and interpret results while contributing to the development of comprehensive analysis strategies that align with research objectives.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial team to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources that support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. This includes analyzing unmet medical needs, safety and efficacy profiles in specific disease states, treatment patterns, and healthcare economic burden.


• Data Management: Clean, transform, and store data into a structured data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.


• Statistical Analysis: Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/Real-World Data (RWD) to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes. Apply advanced statistical methodologies to extract meaningful patterns and trends.


• Capability Development: Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities by applying advanced analytics and tools to address scientific inquiries from biopharmaceutical organizations.


• Research Collaboration: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific validity throughout the research process.


• Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and investigations. Maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity and reproducibility.


• Reporting and Visualization: Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for both internal and external use, effectively communicating complex findings to diverse audiences.


• Vendor Evaluation: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data providers and vendors, driving RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions and partnership opportunities.

Essential Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Minimum 2 years of experience with programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL. Strong proficiency in at least one of these languages is required for efficient data manipulation and analysis.


• Statistical Experience: Experience in designing and executing effective and reproducible statistical investigations in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data. Familiarity with study design principles and causal inference methods is essential.


• Statistical Methods Knowledge: Understanding of common statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, classification and regression, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.


• Large Data Handling: Experience processing large datasets from multiple data sources. Ability to work with structured and unstructured data efficiently.


• Healthcare Data Experience: Experience handling protected patient health information (PHI) with strict adherence to privacy regulations and data security protocols.


• Visualization Tools: Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI visualization tools for creating compelling data visualizations and dashboards.

• Alternative Data Sources: Experience with alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, especially those enabled by technology platforms and/or digital health solutions.


• Advanced Methodologies: Experience with trial design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data analysis, and computational statistics.


• Machine Learning: Understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques, with the ability to continuously self-learn both technical and non-technical skills in this rapidly evolving field.
