About the Role

Key Responsibilities

As a Product Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for defining, owning, and refining product success metrics. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, User Experience, and Engineering teams to develop comprehensive metric frameworks that directly link to business outcomes. Your expertise will be crucial in establishing how we measure success and ensuring that our metrics accurately reflect customer value and business growth.

• Metric Development: Define, own, and refine product success metrics while working with Product Management, UX, and Engineering to develop comprehensive metric frameworks that connect to business outcomes


• Analysis & Reporting: Report, track, and explain key metrics while making recommendations for improvement; identify critical product functionalities and assess their business impact


• Data Quality: Collaborate with Engineering teams to identify and address instrumentation gaps, ensuring accurate data collection for key functionalities with a focus on customer journeys that drive business value


• Strategic Influence: Work with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to influence, prioritize, and support product strategy; apply technical expertise with empirical data analysis to address critical business questions


• Communication: Deliver effective presentations of data-driven insights and recommendations to various levels of stakeholders, translating complex findings into clear, actionable guidance


• Proactive Research: Lead proactive investigations to identify and measure new opportunities, conducting rigorous analysis to better understand customer behavior and engagement patterns


• Experimentation: Design and analyze experiments to measure the causal effects of product changes, ensuring robust statistical validity and actionable results


• Dashboard Development: Democratize data access through developing dashboards and accurate reporting that enable teams across the organization to make informed decisions


• Quality Evaluation: Help shape new product experiences and develop innovative ways to evaluate content quality and customer experience

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and demonstrate the ability to apply statistical methodologies to real-world data challenges. We're looking for candidates who combine technical proficiency with business acumen and the passion to drive meaningful impact through data-driven decision making.

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, OR equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong analytical capabilities


• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in analysis applications, including extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, or solving business problems, combined with coding experience in languages such as Python, R, or SQL


• Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or R) and strong SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis


• Statistical Knowledge: Solid understanding of statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and experimental design


• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with the capacity to approach complex challenges methodically


• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
