You will join a dynamic team within our Operations Analysis and Performance (OAP) department, where you will be responsible for curating Single Source of Truth data tables, generating and dispensing automatic reporting in a modular and scalable manner, leading efforts to transition to modern data and reporting tools, and serving as a center of excellence for efficient data processing and control.

What You'll Do


As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of transforming raw data into strategic assets. Your technical expertise and analytical mindset will be crucial in supporting our operational teams and driving data-informed decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities



  • Locate and extract information from multiple sources to be used in evaluation, models, and project development.

  • Clean and curate datasets by exploring new data sources and collaborating with different business units to determine the best source of information, aggregating perspectives into meaningful hierarchies.

  • Be familiar with data environments and collaborate to improve automatic reports and analyses in support of divisional leaders and business units.

  • Leverage emerging technologies and proactively discover efficient and meaningful approaches to communicate data and analysis that enable you to meet divisional needs.

  • Support strategy development and project management engagements for individual business units and cross-divisional initiatives.

  • Train and mentor other team members in various skills and subjects.

  • Practice safety-aware behaviors in all operational techniques and procedures.

  • Have a team-first mindset with the success of our team and business partners as the top priority.

  • Be intellectually curious, ask questions, and communicate when they have an idea.

What You Need to Succeed


We are looking for candidates who combine technical expertise with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with complex datasets and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Minimum Qualifications



  • 3+ years of related experience in data engineering, data analysis, or a similar role.

  • Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns with the ability to design and optimize complex queries.

  • Proficiency with Python, SAS, or other comparable tools and programming languages for data processing and analysis.

  • Ability to troubleshoot a reporting database environment and resolve performance issues efficiently.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously while managing multiple requests with varying timelines.

  • Self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complicated problems, working individually or in a team.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and private information.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles to foster an inclusive work environment.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work within the United States.

Preferred Qualifications


While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:



  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or other applicable quantitative field.

  • Previous experience in the airline or transportation industry with an understanding of operational workflows.

  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with cloud-based solutions such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and version control systems.
