The Role: Technical Program Manager – Data Center Operations
A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for everyone. That's why arenaflexers build products that help create opportunities for everybody, whether down the road or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at arenaflex, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with partners to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project plans, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the organization.
You will be equally comfortable explaining your team's analysis and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. This role offers the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and operational excellence.
We are currently seeking a talented Technical Program Manager to join our Global Data Center Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of our Third-Party Datacenter (3PDC) fleet worldwide. This is a high-impact position that requires someone who can bridge technical depth with strategic vision, working across multiple teams to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Programs: Collaborate with a team of Engineers and Planners to address the global fleet of Third-Party Datacenters (3PDC), ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency across all facilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional partners to understand business needs, conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data collection, analysis, ongoing scaled forecasting, and presentations to senior leadership.
- Data-Driven Insights: Plan and automate metrics, iteratively building and prototyping dashboards to provide insights at scale. Transform raw data into actionable intelligence that drives strategic decision-making.
- Process Optimization: Drive process improvement through data analysis, visualization, and business recommendations based on 3PDC data. Identify and act on opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stakeholder Management: Identify, communicate, and collaborate with stakeholders within multiple teams to drive impact and work toward shared goals. Navigate complex organizational structures to achieve alignment.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive program plans that span multiple quarters and involve diverse sets of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate issues to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Executive Communication: Present findings, recommendations, and program updates to senior executives with clarity and confidence, translating technical concepts into business impact.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Program Management Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget.
- Cross-Functional Project Management: Minimum 3 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-group projects, demonstrating the ability to coordinate diverse teams toward common objectives.
- Technical Analytical Skills: Experience in financial modeling and analysis, using spreadsheets and manipulating data sets using SQL or similar query languages. Comfortable working with large datasets and deriving meaningful insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences—from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical, information visualization, and critical thinking skills. Ability to decompose complex problems into manageable components and develop effective solutions.
- Project Planning: Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools for planning, tracking, and reporting on project progress.
Preferred Qualifications
- Large-Scale Program Leadership: 3+ years of experience managing large, cross-functional projects spanning a diverse set of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Technical Program Management: Previous experience in technical program/project management roles within a technology, cloud, or infrastructure company.
- Data Center Operations: Familiarity with data center operations, infrastructure management, or facility management is highly desirable.
- Advanced Analytical Capabilities: Experience with advanced data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms) and statistical analysis.
- Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge: Understanding of cloud computing architectures, distributed systems, and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platforms.
- Process Improvement: Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Technical Depth: Ability to understand technical tradeoffs and engage meaningfully with engineering teams on technical decisions.

- Leadership Presence: The confidence to lead meetings, facilitate discussions, and drive decisions without formal authority. You inspire trust and build consensus across teams.
- Adaptability: The tech industry moves fast, and priorities can shift. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to pivot quickly when circumstances change.
