This position is a vital part of our Payments and Digital Operations team within the arenaflex Credit Union division. In this role, you'll be responsible for daily operations related to check processing, item handling, direct payments, and funds transfers. What You'll Do


As a Member Services Representative in our Payments and Digital Operations division, you'll handle a variety of critical functions that keep our financial services running smoothly. Your daily responsibilities will include:


  • Complete data entry and reconciliation functions: Accurately process and maintain financial records while ensuring all transactions are properly documented and balanced.

  • Coordinate return items: Work with individuals, external vendors, the Federal Reserve, and other financial institutions to resolve returned items and ensure proper handling of exception transactions.

  • Support fraud resolution: Assist different departments with fraud prevention, member inquiries, and related general ledger account reconciliation to protect our members and organization.

  • Process assigned cases and exercises: Handle specific cases and tasks as assigned, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Follow and maintain policies and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA rules and regulations, as well as Federal Banking regulations.

  • Process various payment types: Handle advance payments, multi-record and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks including IRA, bankruptcy, and estate checks.

  • Review and approve digital banking products: Analyze and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other image-enabled products while ensuring security and compliance.

  • Handle account adjustments: Log, research, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Process stop payments and check sequencing: Manage stop payment requests and ensure proper check sequencing for all transactions.

  • Complete daily reconciliation and branch closing: Perform end-of-day reconciliation processes and coordinate branch closing activities.

  • Process funds transfer requests: Obtain information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic funds transfer requests.

  • Verify funds transfer information: Research and verify incoming and outgoing funds transfer information to ensure accuracy and security.

  • Communicate with vendors: Coordinate with external vendors to handle funds transfers and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Stay informed on regulations: Understand and remain aware of outgoing and incoming funds transfer regulations to maintain compliance.

  • Handle specialized transactions: Process check returns, research member returned checks for draft adjustments, process member checks, verify members for social security transfers, and handle Federal Reserve verifying and releasing funds transfers.

  • Process late returns and special items: Complete daily processing of workflows related to late returns, source of receipts, foreign collections, and legal charges.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security: Ensure the security and confidentiality of all account information necessary for your work, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

What You'll Need for Success

Minimum Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered

  • Technical Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency

  • Work Environment: Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet business needs

Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous client/member service experience in a financial services environment

  • Prior banking or Credit Union experience

  • Familiarity with Episys/Symitar systems and wire processing procedures
