Support Delta’s Safety Management System by analyzing flight safety data and collaborating across teams to mitigate safety risks.
Your Role
- Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting continuous monitoring of safety-of-flight risks and executing Flight Operations Safety Risk Assessments using flight safety data sources.
- Conducting research and performing analyses on flight data, pilot reports, fatigue reports, damage or injury data, and other operational and safety data.
- Becoming familiar with frontline work groups, especially pilots, and collaborating with Flight Safety, Corporate Safety, and Flight Operations teams to advance safety initiatives.
- Supporting all Flight Safety programs including accident and incident investigations, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Pilot Fatigue Risk Management, and Safety Promotion.
- Representing Delta Flight Safety at select internal and external safety meetings to communicate safety insights and strengthen organizational safety culture.
About You
- The company is looking for:
- Full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a 4-year academic institution with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.
- Availability to work full-time for 3 alternating semesters: Fall 2026, Summer 2027, and Spring 2028, without taking courses during co-op semesters.
- Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA for the duration of the co-op.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management and personal management skills.
- Consistent prioritization of safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Degree specialization in Aviation.
- Valid passport and ability to travel up to 20% for company business.
- Flight experience or experience with analytics or data science.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn and a passion for safety.

Working as a Co-op/Intern provides educational and professional work experience to prepare for the workforce; however, it does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation.
