Position Overview: Real World Evidence Data Scientist

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Real World Evidence (RWE) Data Scientist to join our Clinical Data Science division on a part-time basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible for generating robust real-world evidence through advanced analytical research and innovative methodologies within the clinical trials space. You will serve as an integral member of our Scientific Solutions team, leveraging your expertise in data science and technology to influence both internal and external decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical proficiency, healthcare domain knowledge, and strategic thinking capabilities. You will lead sophisticated data analysis initiatives designed to address fundamental business questions and provide actionable insights that drive organizational success. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Clinical Data Science and offers significant opportunities for professional growth and skill development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Extraction and Preparation: Mine raw datasets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from internal data assets or licensed platforms. You will analyze and interpret complex results, ultimately shaping our overall analysis strategy and ensuring data integrity throughout the research process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with various members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial team to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources. Your contributions will support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests, including research on unmet medical needs, safety and efficacy profiles in specific disease states, treatment patterns, healthcare economic burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
  • Data Management and Architecture: Clean, transform, and store data into a structured data lake environment, ensuring accessibility and usability for future analysis projects and broader team utilization. You will establish best practices for data governance and documentation.
  • Statistical Analysis and Mining: Perform comprehensive data mining and statistical analysis to examine RWE/real-world data (RWD), discovering new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes. You will apply advanced statistical methodologies to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform clinical decision-making.
  • Capability Development: Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities. Apply advanced analytical tools and techniques to address scientific inquiries from biopharmaceutical company clients, continuously expanding our methodological toolkit.
  • Research Study Execution: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific validity. You will contribute to study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and final reporting deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance and Interpretation: Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and analyses. Implement quality control measures and validation procedures to maintain the highest standards of scientific excellence.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Build dynamic dashboards, analyses, and comprehensive reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling visual narratives that drive informed decision-making.
  • Vendor Evaluation and Quality Assessment: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data provider vendors and drive RWD quality assessments to inform project decisions. You will evaluate potential data sources for reliability, completeness, and applicability to specific research questions.
