What You'll Do
The Grievance Team Lead serves as the subject matter expert responsible for overseeing the execution and performance of our grievance team. In this role, you will provide guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to grievance coordinators with the purpose of achieving key results that align with arenaflex's commitment to excellence in member care.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of Grievance Coordinators with full responsibility for goal and productivity management, coaching, counseling, and providing feedback to the management team. You'll be instrumental in developing talent and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Training and Development: Deliver comprehensive training to employees as needed, ensuring new hires have proper work tools and are equipped with the knowledge necessary to succeed in their roles.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure Grievance Coordinators expedite timely requests for information and that all cases meet regulatory compliance standards within CMS guidelines.
- Policy Application: Understand arenaflex's internal health plan policies and procedures to frame decisions appropriately and ensure consistent application across all cases.
- Decision Making: Make critical decisions in support of the business as needed, exercising good judgment and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Regulatory Management: Manage all duties within CMS regulatory timeframes and interpret CMS regulations and policies as necessary to ensure accurate case handling.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively to hand-off and pick-up work from colleagues, ensuring seamless operations across the organization.
- Performance Management: Responsible for ensuring that the team meets or exceeds production and quality goals on a consistent basis.
- Reporting: Monitor quantitative and qualitative achievements of the team and report results to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or associate degree in a related field; in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma with equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: A minimum of 2+ years in a Medicare, Medicaid managed care environment investigating and resolving grievances is required. You must have a solid understanding of the healthcare grievance process.
- Clinical Background: Experience in clinical practice with exposure to appeals and grievances, claims processing, utilization review, or utilization management/case management.
- Technical Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently on several computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as corporate email systems.
- Multi-tasking Abilities: Demonstrated ability to manage large caseloads effectively while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within healthcare customer service
- Advanced knowledge of CMS regulations and guidelines
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex situations

Compensation
For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $17 - $26 USD per hour, depending on relevant factors including experience and geographic location.
