Position Overview: First Notice of Loss (FNOL) Representative

In this critical role, you'll be the first point of contact for customers experiencing some of life's most stressful moments—whether they've been in an accident, faced unexpected property damage, or need to file a claim. Your ability to listen actively, assess needs, and provide compassionate guidance will directly impact our customers' experience and reinforce arenaflex's reputation for exceptional service. You'll utilize various communication platforms to engage with policyholders, agents, claimants, and internal stakeholders, ensuring each interaction resolves with clarity, confidence, and care.
This position offers a unique blend of challenges and rewards. You'll work within our FNOL Contact Center Operations Department, where no two days are alike. You'll have the opportunity to develop deep expertise in insurance products, claims processes, and customer relationship management. Key Responsibilities
As an FNOL Representative at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in our claims operation. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Customer Inquiry Management: Utilize multiple platforms to respond to inquiries from customers, including policyholders, agents, claimants, and internal employees. You'll actively listen to understand their needs, clarify information, and offer appropriate solutions.
- Policy and Procedure Application: Apply a working knowledge of arenaflex and department policies and procedures to conduct business-appropriate conversations while guiding customers toward appropriate resolution paths.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve customer issues within your scope of authority, demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving skills. When situations exceed your authority, you'll expertly escalate to the appropriate area or person in accordance with company policies.
- Account Servicing: In accordance with arenaflex policy and procedures, manage and service office account books of business with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Claims Processing: Apply proficient knowledge of arenaflex systems and products to respond to caller concerns across all lines of business. Process loss reports and claims within scope of authority and established guidelines.
- Claims Services: Provide comprehensive claims services, including but not limited to repair options coordination, rental vehicle reservations, property mitigation guidance, and towing arrangements.
- Continuous Learning: Attend appropriate training and informational meetings to learn and maintain a working knowledge of arenaflex policies, procedures, and processing systems, as well as industry knowledge and applicable licensure requirements.
- Mentorship and Expertise: Train and mentor less experienced staff members, and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for department initiatives and special projects as applicable.
Work Schedule and Requirements
The FNOL Representative position is a second-shift role with a standard schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, five days per week. As our customer service center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week—including holidays—you must be flexible and willing to work Monday through Sunday and holidays as needed.
During the first three months of employment, all new team members will attend comprehensive training from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This training period is essential for building your foundation in arenaflex systems, products, and customer service excellence.
Remote Work Eligibility: This position offers remote work opportunities for qualified candidates residing in Ohio and Pennsylvania. To be eligible for remote consideration, candidates must live at least 50 miles outside of Erie, PA. Remote team members maintain the same high standards of performance and customer service while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to type a minimum of 28 words per minute is preferred.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software is required.
- Completion or active pursuit of insurance education is preferred.
- Must be able to work a schedule commensurate with department hours, which includes 24/7/365 operations including holidays.
Preferred Education and Designations
While not required, the following courses or designations are highly valued and may enhance your candidacy:
- General Insurance courses (INS 21, 22, 23)
- AIS (Associate in Insurance Services)

Salary Information
The annual salary range for this position is $30,686.00 to $49,018.00. This range represents a national estimate, and the actual salary will depend on several factors including the scope and complexity of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, location, and experience of the applicant, as well as the specific level of role for which the successful candidate is hired.
