Position Overview

We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Flight Instructors to join our Fleet Common Programs team. This part-time position is devoted to providing a superior training experience to 14 CFR Part 121 licensed Air Carrier pilots. The ideal candidate will possess extensive airline experience, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine passion for mentoring and developing future aviation professionals.

Key Responsibilities

As a Flight Instructor at arenaflex Professional Services, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs that prepare pilots for leadership roles within the airline industry. Your duties will encompass both classroom instruction and coordination activities designed to support our comprehensive pilot development initiatives.

Primary Duties Include:


  • Curriculum Delivery: Deliver organized, engaging briefings and lead interactive discussions for pilot training programs, closely adhering to approved curricula within allocated timeframes for each educational module.

  • Program Coordination: Provide coordination and instructor support for Fleet Common Programs, specifically focusing on the Delta Captain Leadership Path (DCLC) and Pilot Indoctrinement programs.

  • Schedule Management: Coordinate monthly DCLC instructor schedules and manage student roster communications effectively with all stakeholders.

  • Course Development: Collaborate with the core instructor team to coordinate DCLC course updates and ensure curriculum remains current with industry best practices.

  • Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong, productive relationships with training development/media managers, analytics supervisors, key growth stakeholders, and the instructor group.

  • Logistics Management: Manage classroom resources and training materials including MS PowerPoint presentations, electronic documents/manuals, whiteboards, handouts, and other educational assets.

  • Feedback Integration: Act as an excellent listener, soliciting feedback from attendees and colleagues for continuous course improvement and professional development.

  • Customer Service: Demonstrate unwavering commitment to customer service excellence while working with internal and external clients.

Operational Expectations:


  • Instructors must be available to work weekends and holidays as required by operational needs.

  • Willingness to travel to non-Atlanta "off-site" training locations when required.

  • Expected to be scheduled for 10-12 training events per month, with flexibility in scheduling.

What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Age & Authorization: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess authorization to work in the United States.

  • Education: High school degree, GED, or high school equivalency is required.

  • Pilot Certification: Must hold an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with Multiengine Land class rating.

  • Experience: Must have served as a pilot at a 14 CFR Part 121 certified Air Carrier.

  • Flight Hours: Minimum of 2,000 hours accumulated as Pilot in Command (PIC) at a 14 CFR Part 121 certified Air Carrier.

  • Recent Retirement: Candidates must apply no later than 24 months after retiring from a 14 CFR Part 121 certified Air Carrier (exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis).

  • Technical Proficiency: Must be familiar with technology required for the position, including:

    • Apple iPad tablet devices

    • Company information systems, email, scheduling, and conference platforms

    • MS PowerPoint for presentation development and delivery



Required Knowledge Areas:


  • Comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of airline pilots, including:

    • Pilot in Command (PIC) responsibilities, roles, and decision-making authority

    • Second in Command (SIC) duties and crew resource management

    • Expectations for professionalism, leadership, and hazardous error management



  • Knowledge of client company policies, procedures, and available resources

  • Understanding of 14 CFR Part 121 regulatory requirements and compliance standards
