Position Overview

As an Information Researcher – Real-World Evidence (RWE) at arenaflex, you will be responsible for producing credible real-world evidence through advanced research and innovative methodologies in the clinical trials space. You will be a vital member of our Logical Undertakings group, working alongside cross-functional teams to deliver insights that shape the future of healthcare.

This role offers the chance to impact both internal and external decision-making through the use of innovative data science and technology. You will conduct sophisticated data analysis to help address critical business questions, working closely with clinical trial teams, biopharmaceutical partners, and internal stakeholders to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities


  • Data Mining and Preparation: Mine raw datasets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient companions from in-house data resources or licensed platforms. Analyze and interpret results while contributing to the development of overall analysis strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with members of the Clinical Trial team to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Potential projects include analysis of unmet needs, safety and efficacy of treatments in specific disease states, treatment patterns and healthcare economic burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
  • Data Integration and Management: Clean, transform, and store data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team usage. Ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.
  • Statistical Analysis and Insights: Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/RWD and discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes. Apply advanced statistical techniques to uncover patterns and trends that inform clinical and business decisions.
  • Capability Development: Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities. Apply advanced analytics and tools to address scientific inquiries from biopharmaceutical organizations and drive innovation in our analytical approaches.
  • Research Study Execution: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific validity in all research activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and investigations. Maintain high standards of accuracy and reproducibility in all analytical work.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for both internal and external use. Effectively communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Vendor Assessment: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data providers and vendors. Drive RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions and partnership opportunities.

Essential Qualifications


  • Statistical Analysis Expertise: Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data.
  • Statistical Techniques Proficiency: Knowledge of common statistical testing techniques including generalized linear models, clustering and segmentation, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.
  • Big Data Experience: Experience handling large datasets from various data sources. Ability to work with complex, multi-dimensional data structures and extract meaningful insights from massive volumes of information.
  • Healthcare Data Privacy: Experience handling protected patient health information (PHI) with the highest level of confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant privacy requirements.
  • Business Intelligence Tools: Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI/visualization tools. Ability to create compelling data visualizations that drive decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced Degree: PhD or Master's degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Healthcare Data Systems: Proficiency in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and healthcare data ecosystems.
  • Clinical Data Standards: Expertise in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD-9/10, Read Code, SNOMED CT).
  • Regulatory Compliance: Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO standards, MDD/MDR, CFR Title 21).
  • Innovative Data Collection: Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, especially those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions (wearables, patient apps, remote monitoring).
  • Advanced Statistical Methods: Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential analysis, and computational statistics.
  • Continuous Learning: Strong understanding of statistics and machine learning methods, with the ability to continuously self-learn both technical and non-technical skills in this rapidly evolving field.

Compensation and Benefits
