**Experienced Data Entry Technician – Geographic Information System (GIS) and Database Management**

As a Data Entry Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in their efforts to manage and analyze data related to the Abandoned Mines and Site Cleanup... - *Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced Data Entry Technician to join our team in supporting the BLM's AMSCM database. As a Data Entry Technician, you will be responsible for inputting, updating, deleting, and reviewing data in the AMSCM database, as well as generating digital map products using AMSCM-related data. You will also be responsible for providing Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) of inputted environmental data and working with Task Managers and other specialists to translate digital/paper files into data for entry into AMSCM.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- Work with Task Manager to input, update, delete, and review AMSCM data
- Work with Task Manager and other specialists (District/field office specialists) to translate digital/paper files into data for entry into AMSCM
- Support the data integrity of the program by providing Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) of inputted environmental data
- Work with Task Manager to document and improve the overall quality of AMSCM data
- Generate digital map products using AMSCM-related data
- Assist with data sharing and data management activities
- Coordinate with the Task Manager for data management as follows: + Review/input data to AMSCM, for approximately 41,000 sites* and 70,000 features*+ Re-evaluate and update approximately 50,000 features nationwide+ Check and verify approximately 130,000 feature records for accuracy+ Check and verify approximately 60,000 site records for accuracy
- Provide a weekly teleconference call update and monthly written progress reports to the Task Manager and Contracting Officer's Representative
- Submit a letter report to the BLM annually, fully describing the work that was performed, problems and uncertainties encountered, and providing conclusions and recommendations for related future work in the area
- *Essential Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, information technology, geography, environmental science)
- 2+ years of experience in data entry, database management, and geographic information systems (GIS)
- Strong knowledge of databases and GIS platforms
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel up to six (6) times per year, with typical travel being five (5) working days or less to Colorado or other BLM offices within the continental United States
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's degree in a related field
- Experience working with the BLM or other government agencies
- Certification in GIS or database management
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Strong knowledge of data quality control and assurance
