Our IT division is at the heart of arenaflex's digital transformation, and we are seeking a talented and passionate Data Engineer to join our Business Intelligence and Analytics team for our growing e-commerce division. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the end-to-end data pipelines that drive critical business insights and data services across the entire organization. You will play a pivotal role in constructing automated data pipelines from a variety of internal and external data sources, working closely with product owners, BI engineers, and data platform teams to design, build, test, and automate the data infrastructure that serves as the single source of truth for our enterprise.

What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer specializing in BI and Analytics for E-Commerce at arenaflex, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable intelligence. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design and Implementation: Plan, develop, implement, and operationalize ETL/ELT processes using Informatica Cloud (IICS) to ensure seamless data flow across all systems.


• Collaborative Architecture: Work closely with Data Architects and BI specialists to design robust data pipelines and recommend continuous improvements to data storage, ingestion, quality, and governance.


• Pipeline Excellence: Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture that can scale with our growing business needs.


• Process Optimization: Identify, plan, and execute internal process improvements by automating manual processes and enhancing data delivery mechanisms.


• Big Data Solutions: Implement big data and NoSQL solutions by developing scalable data processing platforms that drive high-value insights for the organization.


• Data Governance: Support the development of Data Dictionaries and Data Taxonomies for product solutions, ensuring consistency and reliability across all data assets.


• Code Development: Demonstrate strong understanding of coding and programming concepts to build comprehensive data pipelines including data transformation, data quality, and data integration.


• Data Modeling: Build data models in collaboration with Data Architects and develop data pipelines to store information in defined data models and structures.


• Integration Expertise: Show strong proficiency in data integration methods and tools, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) approaches.


• Storage Solutions: Maintain solid understanding of database storage concepts including data lakes, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph, and data warehousing solutions.


• Quality Assurance: Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality of data management practices.


• Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct impromptu data retrieval for business reports and dashboards as needed.


• Data Integrity: Evaluate the integrity of data from various sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.


• Database Administration: Manage database configuration including installing and upgrading software while maintaining appropriate documentation.


• Performance Monitoring: Monitor database activity and resource usage to ensure optimal performance.


• Peer Review: Perform peer reviews for other Data Engineer's work to maintain quality standards.


• Cloud Platform Utilization: Use Azure services including Azure SQL DW (Synapse), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Factory to enhance and accelerate delivery of data products and services.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must bring a proven track record of data engineering excellence:

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets.


• ETL Tools: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica IICS or PowerCenter.


• Data Management: 2+ years of experience in Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Warehousing concepts.


• Cloud Technologies: 2+ years of experience working with cloud technologies such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB, and other big data technologies.


• E-Commerce Background: Experience with advanced e-commerce and clickstream data analysis.


• Multi-Source Data: Extensive experience working with diverse data sources including SQL, Oracle database, flat files (CSV, delimited), Web APIs, and XML.


• SQL Expertise: Advanced SQL skills with strong understanding of relational databases and business data; ability to write complex SQL queries against multiple data sources.


• Database Storage: Solid comprehension of database storage concepts including data lake, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph, and data warehousing.


• Agile Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced agile development environment.


• Flexibility: Planning flexibility to meet business needs including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related software/services experience.


• Cloud Certifications: Azure certifications demonstrating expertise in cloud platforms.


• Integration Techniques: Experience implementing data integration techniques like event/message-based integration (Kafka, Azure Event Hub), ETL.


• DevOps Experience: Experience with Git/Azure DevOps for version control and deployment.


• Agile Delivery: Experience delivering data solutions through agile software development approaches.


• Industry Knowledge: Exposure to the retail industry and understanding of retail business processes.


• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.


• Scheduling Tools: Experience with UC4 Job Scheduler for automated job management.


• Visualization Tools: Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
