Position Overview
Are you a results-driven marketing professional with a knack for analyzing market trends and driving category growth? arenaflex is currently seeking a talented Category Marketing Expert to contribute to our strategic sales initiatives, gross margin optimization, and market share expansion within assigned product categories.

What You'll Do
As a Category Marketing Expert at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in driving our category performance and ensuring we maintain our competitive edge in the marketplace. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drive Sales and Margin Performance: Contribute directly to achieving sales and margin objectives within your assigned product categories. You'll develop strategies that balance profitability with customer value.
- Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze relevant market data and integrate findings into comprehensive Class Plans. This includes optimizing SKU assortment, enhancing Extracare loyalty program initiatives, and executing special marketing projects that resonate with our customers.
- Strategic Execution: Lead the tactical execution of daily planogram activities, including works off-rack plan designs, tracking promotional periods, and conducting analysis to make data-informed adjustments when necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams across Stock, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Layout, Marketing, and Store Operations. Your ability to collaborate effectively will be key to driving category success.
- Inventory and Sales Analysis: Examine sales records and inventory levels of current stock to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges. Use these insights to recommend strategic actions.
- Competitive Intelligence: Build and maintain strong competitive intelligence capabilities by monitoring the marketplace, identifying new competitive opportunities, and making strategic recommendations to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Market Research: Research customer product preferences, supplier pricing, and the competitive environment to inform category strategies and merchandising decisions.
- Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with changes in the marketplace, emerging trends, and evolving customer needs to ensure arenaflex remains at the forefront of the industry.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Retail Mathematics Expertise: Working knowledge of retail math concepts with demonstrated practical application. You should be comfortable calculating margins, markups, sell-through rates, and other key retail metrics.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Access or other database systems is a plus.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel approximately 5-10% of the time for team meetings, store visits, and strategic planning sessions.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.

- Previous experience in category management, merchandising, or marketing within a retail or healthcare environment.
