The Engineering Rotational Development Program offers recent graduates the chance to gain hands-on experience across various departments, ultimately transitioning into a permanent engineering role after completing the program.


Responsibilities

  • Helping project managers (PMs) and principal investigators (PIs) manage technology and product development initiatives, including laboratory experimental and field demonstration research, managing project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and other project-specific needs
  • Support the development, testing, and scale-up of innovative energy technologies across building systems, energy delivery infrastructure, and industrial and power generation applications, contributing to mechanical and process design, modeling, and applied research efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, validate, and document technical solutions that enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, and emissions reduction across evolving energy systems
  • Support the design, operation, and maintenance of laboratory and pilot-scale test facilities to advance the development and scale-up of energy technologies
  • Conduct analytical and chemical testing, ensure safe and reliable experimental operations, and deliver high-quality data to inform research, technology development, and commercialization efforts
  • Apply AI, advanced modeling, and data analytics to generate actionable insights for complex energy systems
  • Conduct lifecycle and techno-economic analyses, develop reproducible decision-support tools, and translate technical findings into clear guidance to support strategic and net-zero planning decisions
  • Support the development of scalable, low-carbon solutions to enhance the resilience and performance of natural gas infrastructure
  • Contribute to methane reduction initiatives, safe and reliable system operations, and the integration of low- and no-carbon fuels to advance the transition to a Net Zero energy future

Skills

  • B.S. in engineering or a science-related field, expected graduation Spring 2026
  • Experience or willingness to learn in any of the following areas is a strong plus: Familiarity with chemical process modeling and/or design and fabrication of mechanical or electrical systems
  • Knowledge of new and novel chemical and energy conversion processes preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding and commitment to safety in test environments
  • Able to appropriately prioritize & meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of the energy industry and mitigating its impact on climate change
  • Comfortable with hands-on work and physical interventions with electro-mechanical systems
  • Ability to plan experiments and analyze / present data clearly
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a cross-functional format
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel for field work and related assignments
  • Experience with laboratory and hands-on engineering development projects
