Job Overview

As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in our data science team, working to understand and serve the needs of our business processes through scientific and statistical methodologies. You will be responsible for developing data-driven solutions that address complex business challenges, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and creating innovative data-driven strategies that power our products and services.

You'll have the chance to structure business issues for new and existing clients by applying data science principles to design, test, implement, and develop data-based solutions, including reporting, auditing, and designing large datasets for statistical analysis.

What You'll Do

As an integral part of the arenaflex data science team, you will be responsible for the following key duties:

• Apply Statistical Techniques: Design, test, and scale effective, reliable structures, systems, and models to improve the usefulness of big data and predictive applications using advanced statistical and mathematical methodologies.


• Algorithm Development: Research, implement, and test algorithms and tools to solve data challenges and improve quality and reliability of data pipelines and processing systems.


• Application Development: Develop applications according to business requirements; design, code, test, deploy, and iterate on existing systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability.


• Research & Innovation: Research and stay current on emerging techniques, methodologies, and best practices in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.


• Problem Resolution: Effectively resolve issues and barriers as they occur, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to debug complex data problems.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, application developers, product managers, and software engineers to develop and maintain solutions for new and existing products.


• Data Pipeline Management: Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytical needs and business intelligence requirements.


• Statistical Analysis: Conduct statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and data modeling to extract meaningful insights and support data-driven decision making across the organization.


• Documentation & Communication: Create comprehensive documentation of models, processes, and findings; present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in clear, understandable terms.

What You'll Need

We're looking for candidates who bring a strong foundation in quantitative disciplines and hands-on experience with data science methodologies. The ideal candidate will have:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or comparable quantitative fields such as Engineering or Computer Science with a background in both time series analysis and machine learning.


• Modeling Experience: Active involvement in developing and deploying advancement and predictive models for real-world business applications.


• Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills with experience in Python, R, PySpark, Flask, Scala, Java, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.


• Data Management: Proficiency in SQL with intermediate-level knowledge of database querying and data manipulation.


• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-expert stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.


• Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a passion for data-driven insights.


• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools such as Redshift, Snowflake, SageMaker, or other similar cloud-based platforms.

• Advanced knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker for deployment and scalability.


• Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques, with the ability to create compelling visual representations of complex data.


• Experience with big data processing frameworks and distributed computing.

• Knowledge of agile methodologies and software development best practices.
