Consulting Associate, Engineer

ERM is a global leader in sustainability and environmental consulting. As an entry-level engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing and implementing solutions that help our clients meet environmental and regulatory challenges.


Responsibilities

  • Support civil and environmental engineering projects that influence energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors
  • Contribute to site/civil design, stormwater engineering, remediation, erosion control, and water management initiatives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—planners, scientists, and engineers—to deliver innovative solutions locally and globally
  • Work remotely/hybrid while maintaining clear communication on schedules, deliverables, and tasks
  • Assist in civil/environmental design and support for projects including:
  • Site plans
  • Erosion and sediment control plans
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Permit application preparation
  • Participate in field work, sampling, construction monitoring, and reporting
  • Manage multiple fast-paced projects across diverse geographies
  • Ensure compliance with ERM’s world-class Health and Safety Program

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience
  • 0–2 years of experience
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to research and prepare technical memorandums, field reports, and report sections
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or current registration for the F.E. exam
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS Software, and/or Hydraflow/HydroCAD
  • Prior internship or professional experience in civil/environmental engineering
  • Willingness to travel for field work
