Compliance Associate

Melio is the fastest-growing B2B payment platform in the US, dedicated to helping small businesses succeed. They are seeking a Compliance Associate to assist with various projects related to Anti Money Laundering and compliance governance, while working closely with the BSA Officer and Chief Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

• Work with the BSA Officer on various projects and initiatives related to Anti Money Laundering, Policy and Governance and other areas of compliance
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of our AI Governance & Risk Management policy and program
• Serve as the secretary for Melio Solutions Inc. Board meetings (e.g., take meeting minutes, coordinate with contributors for content)
• Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in areas such as partnerships, regulatory and other areas on an as needed basis
• Partner with the compliance and operations teams to establish a cadence for ongoing review key policies and procedures
• Work with key cross functional stakeholders to create a process for ongoing review of policies and procedures

Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in a regulated financial services environment in a relevant field (no previous compliance experience necessary)
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to self-direct, form independent judgements, work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly
• Ability to interact and build relationships with team members and cross-functional partners
• Strong desire to learn; growth mindset
• Direct exposure to B2B payments within the financial services industry
• Previous experience in a FinTech environment
• Experience performing risk assessments in a regulated financial services environment
• Experience with metrics and reporting in a regulated financial services environment
• Experience drafting policies and procedures in a regulated financial services environment
• Familiarity and understanding of payment regulations, including money transmitter licenses (“MTL”), credit card network rules and NACHA rules
