Position Overview

As a CAD Engineer specializing in Timing and Signal Integrity Analysis at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in defining, implementing, and supporting the methodologies, flows, and tools necessary to verify semiconductor-level circuits. Your work will directly impact the performance, power efficiency, and reliability of our next-generation chips.

You will collaborate closely with digital and analog design teams to ensure that their designs meet functionality, timing, electrical, power, and signal integrity objectives. This role offers the chance to work at the intersection of software automation and hardware design, using your programming skills to create efficient verification workflows.

Key Responsibilities


  • Methodology Development: Define, implement, and maintain flows, scripts, and approaches for semiconductor-level analysis, including timing verification, signal integrity analysis, and circuit validation

  • Collaboration: Work closely with digital and analog design teams to understand and debug tool issues and limitations, ensuring seamless integration of CAD methodologies into the design flow

  • Timing Analysis: Perform deep analysis of timing paths to identify critical bottlenecks and optimization opportunities

  • Verification Closure: Partner with design teams and CAD organization to drive timing, power, signal integrity, and functional verification closure efforts

  • Tool Development: Create and maintain scripts and automation tools using Perl, Python, TCL, or similar languages to improve verification efficiency

  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation, including guidelines, specifications, and best practices for circuit verification methodologies

  • Cross-Functional Integration: Ensure CAD flows integrate effectively with design teams' workflows and meet evolving project requirements

Essential Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor timing analysis, CAD methodology, or related areas

  • Strong experience with Static Timing Analysis (STA) tools and methodologies

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Python, TCL, or similar

  • Understanding of digital custom circuit design, including dynamic circuit techniques and memory structures

  • Experience with timing analysis tools such as NanoTime, PathMill, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools such as HSPICE

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Experience with advanced process nodes (7nm, 5nm, 3nm)

  • Knowledge of machine learning applications in CAD/EDA workflows

  • Background in low-power design methodologies

  • Familiarity with custom memory design (SRAM, DRAM, register files)

  • Experience in signal integrity analysis for high-speed interfaces

  • Understanding of physical implementation flows (place and route)

  • Experience with scripting automation for large-scale data analysis
