The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking a Compliance Instructor to join their Compliance Training Unit. This role involves conducting tax and fee training courses, evaluating student performance, and developing training materials, while also requiring travel throughout the state.
Responsibilities
- Independently conducting complex and sensitive tax and fee training courses
- Evaluating student performance
- Selecting and training volunteer training instructors
- Recommending re-training or additional training when appropriate
- Creates and updates training material
- Identifies and makes recommendations to management regarding training issues
Skills
- Strong knowledge of the tax and fee laws, regulations, and policies
- Extensive experience in field audit procedures
- Experience in teaching or public speaking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized, innovative, and able to work both cooperatively on a team and independently
- Ability to travel up to fifty percent (50%) of the time
- Fingerprinting and successful background investigation required
- Eligibility for promotional exams based on specified criteria
